Description

DCUC-MIW3D is a 3 day learning engagement designed to assist customers who are new to the Cisco Unified Computing System platform to perform the initial design, configuration and preparation for deployment on their existing equipment. The intended audience is customer support personnel who have not yet had training on UCS but who are knowledgeable about deploying servers and attaching them to LANs and SANs.

Customer Responsibilities

The UCS to be configured should already be physically racked and have power available. Customer must be prepared to provide network and SAN connectivity during the Workshop.

Objectives

  • Explain how to connect to and manage Cisco UCS components
  • Describe the Cisco UCS Manager
  • Explain the connectivity requirements for the Cisco UCS platform
  • Describe the process of configuring server profiles to allocate physical resources
  • Install the following:
    • One UCS system with up to 16 blades.
    • Configure 1 server profile
    • Assist in initial install and configuration of Server Operating System

Prerequisites

The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this workshop include the following:

  • Must have a familiarity with the server environment(s) that we'll be building on the UCS
