Ensure consistency across the organization through Automated Desktop Migration
SkyView User State Management (SUSM)
(PDF 61 KB)
The integrated SkyView User State Management (SUSM) add-on module provides an automated desktop migration solution and enables the
definition and deployment of group profiles. IT professionals can remotely deploy user customizations and machine "personalities" during operating
systems, hardware or application upgrades, maintaining consistency across an organization and enforcing corporate standards. Combine SUSM and
Intel® vPro™ Technology and contribute to the global "Green initiative". Experience increased productivity while pro-actively promoting energy
efficiency.
Desktop Standard Management
Define and manage desktop standard settings and configuration of a group of machines specific to individual organizations or groups of organizations.
- Desktop Standards
- Define standards of settings and configurations such as corporate wallpaper, IE favorites, and screensaver and deploy
those settings across an entire group of machines
Policy Management
Define and deploy standard corporate policies and profiles to fit the needs of the organization:
- Power Settings
- Conform to organizational standards while contributing to energy conservation. Remotely manage and automate machine power
on/off/idle functions for maximum productivity
- Drive Mappings
- Define and deploy drive mappings for groups of machines. Create and automate machine group policies for drive
mapping best practices
- Printer Mappings
- Automate the set up of new printers to single or groups of machines. Define usage policies of printers and deploy those
settings to a group of machines
Agent Requirements
- 333 MHz Pentium-class CPU or better
- 128 MB of RAM
- 30 MB of free disk space
- Network Interface Card (NIC) or modem
- Microsoft Windows 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003

- Dashboard
- Provides a graphical status on the current state of power settings within a group of machines.
- Policy status
- compares current power settings for machines in a group against a baseline "desired state" or against the last deployed power policy,
showing the percentage of machines that are in or out of compliance.
Green Computing
As a major source of energy use, IT has a critical role to play in the "green initiative". Implementing SkyView with the SUSM combined
with Intel® vPro™ Technology allows IT professionals to implement power management without compromising system management,
increasing productivity while contributing to energy conservation. Remotely power off computers and promote energy efficiency during
non productive hours then power on to conduct routine off hour IT tasks. By automating IT processes, implementing best practices and
providing consistent customer service levels, even while going green, you can still wake up an out-of-band PC or Laptop to perform software
updates, patches, backups and more. What's more, you can do it all remotely so you don't need to travel to fix a problem. Reduce your
carbon footprint while improving IT service.
